Grimes has claimed that journalists are “stalking” her and trying to “doxx” her and her children.

The singer – real name Claire Boucher – who was in a relationship with Tesla boss Elon Musk from 2018 to 2022 and share two children together, took to Twitter yesterday (23 August) claiming that media outlets are using her children as “canon fodder”.

“To the journalists who are stalking me and trying to doxx me and my kids… contacting all my friends and acquaintances and even anyone I interact with on social media. It gets back to me. I will start revealing ur names if u keep this up. Leave my fucking kids alone,” Grimes wrote.

“Bluntly, if u take issue with my kid’s father, do not use innocent children as canon fodder in attempts to get at him. Do not make a child who cannot consent infamous before they can even read. Do not reveal where they live, or expose personal information that isn’t public.”

She continued: “journalists have even contacted hospital staff from when they were born. This is psychotic.”

The singer also claimed to have “at least 5 different names of journalists from a pretty large number of people”.

“I had 3 ppl in the last 24 hours reach out to me abt journalists asking them about my family so I’d say it’s more of a critical mass, bigger than a single individual.”

She continued: “Ranging from page 6 to NYT. Accusing my kids of being a breeding program, stuff like this. I don’t want to immediately expose ppl because I think call out culture is damaging, I don’t believe in revenge etc. I want to give them the opportunity to choose the virtuous path.”

In March this year it was revealed that Musk and Grimes had their second child together.

In 2020 they welcomed their son, X AE A-XII, and their daughter was born through a surrogate mother in December 2021.

Revealed in a profile with Vanity Fair, Grimes initially refused to confirm the news when interviewer Devin Gordon noticed the sound of a crying baby in the background of their call.

“I’m not at liberty to speak on these things,” Grimes said. “Whatever is going on with family stuff, I just feel like kids need to stay out of it, and X is just out there. I mean, I think E [Musk] is really seeing him as a protégé and bringing him to everything and stuff.… X is out there. His situation is like that. But, yeah, I don’t know.”

It was later confirmed to Vanity Fair that Grimes and Musk had had a daughter, referred to only as Y in the piece. “She’s a little colicky too,” said Grimes in a later call. “I don’t know. I don’t know what I was thinking.”

The singer revealed that she feared complications could arise during a second pregnancy of her own, after suffering “scary” health issues during her first.

Earlier this year, Musk launched a bid to buy Twitter for $41.1 billion (approx $34.7 billion). However, in July he revealed that he would be walking away from the deal. Twitter is currently suing Musk over the deal abandonment.
