Noel Gallagher has responded to The 1975‘s Matty Healy calling for the Gallagher brothers to “grow up” and reform Oasis.

Back in February, Healy expressed his anger at the ongoing feud between Noel and his younger brother, Liam.

“What are Oasis doing? Can you imagine? Being in, potentially, right now, still, the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a hard with your brother,” Healy asked during a CBC interview.

“Do you know what I mean? I can deal with them dressing like they’re in their twenties, and being in their fifties, but acting like they’re in their twenties? They need to grow up.”

Liam subsequently responded to Healy’s call for a reunion after a fan brought up the comments online.

“It’s our time to waste who made him the boss of time,” Liam replied, before adding in a follow-up tweet: “CHILDREN.”

Now, brother Noel has had his say, calling the ‘Robbers’ singer a “f*****g slack-jawed f***wit”.

The High Flying Birds frontman was unaware of Healy’s comments until he was asked about it in an interview with Spin.

“Oh, that fucking slack-jawed fuckwit. What did he say?” he replied. “He would never be able to imagine it. He needs to go over how shit his band is and split up.”

Elaborating on Oasis’s heyday ahead of Definitely Maybe‘s 30th anniversary next year, Noel added: “If Oasis hadn’t fulfilled its potential, I might have a different attitude towards it. But as Oasis did everything it set out to do and more. I don’t see the point. It was a moment in time and if you missed it, tough shit. I missed the Sex Pistols and I’ve managed to get over that. So, people should get over it.”

The musician also shared his thoughts on the AI Oasis music that was circulating online last month.

“Fucking embarrassing. I just think people clearly have too much time and money on their hands if they’re fucking around with that for a laugh,” Noel said. “I mean, who wants to fucking hear Ringo Starr singing ‘She’s Electric’ and Freddie Mercury singing ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger?’ Life’s too short for that shit.”

Liam, however, gave ‘AISIS’ his seal of approval, writing on Twitter: “I sound mega.”
