Noel Gallagher compares Adele to Cilla Black and brands her ‘s**t’ songs ‘offensive’

'They’re f***ing s**t. It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive,' said Noel of Adele's music.

Noel Gallagher has taken aim at Adele, comparing the music icon to the late Cilla Black.

The famously outspoken ex-Oasis leader said that the singer’s back catalogue was “f*****g shit” and said he finds her career “offensive”, before going on to claim that his own music could improve the singer’s glittering career.

“F***k off, f***ing hell. Name one?” Noel said when asked if he was a fan of Adele’s songs on the Matt Morgan podcast.

“They’re f***ing s**t. It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive.”

It’s bold talk from Gallagher, given that Adele has sold over 120 million records, dwarfing the 75 million that Oasis have shifted. The singer also boasts four No 1 UK albums, while Noel’s latest album Council Skies recently peaked at No 2 in the UK album charts.

Noel continued: “If I fall out of love with touring, I could see myself just sitting at home writing songs and sending them to my publishers. I might in the future. I’ll be saying, ‘Get Adele to sing that. Don’t call until she’s done the guide vocal.”

Turning his ire towards Lewis Capaldi, he added: “I want Lewis Capaldi to murder this song, I want him to s**t on it from a great height. Make me rich.”

Noel’s latest tirade comes after he called The 1975’s Matty Healy a “slack-jawed f***wit” after the singer called for an Oasis reunion.

“What are Oasis doing? Can you imagine? Being in, potentially, right now, still, the coolest band in the world, and not doing it because you’re in a hard with your brother,” Healy asked during a CBC interview earlier this year.

“Do you know what I mean? I can deal with them dressing like they’re in their twenties, and being in their fifties, but acting like they’re in their twenties? They need to grow up.”

The High Flying Birds frontman was unaware of Healy’s comments until he was asked about it in an interview with Spin.

“Oh, that fucking slack-jawed fuckwit. What did he say?” he replied. “He would never be able to imagine it. He needs to go over how shit his band is and split up.”

The musician also shared his thoughts on the AI Oasis music that was circulating online earlier this month.

“Fucking embarrassing. I just think people clearly have too much time and money on their hands if they’re fucking around with that for a laugh,” Noel said. “I mean, who wants to fucking hear Ringo Starr singing ‘She’s Electric’ and Freddie Mercury singing ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger?’ Life’s too short for that shit.”

In contrast, his brother Liam gave ‘AISIS’ his seal of approval, writing on Twitter: “I sound mega.”
