Red Hot Chili Peppers share slinky new single ‘Poster Child’
It follows 'Black Summer', the first single released from forthcoming album 'Unlimited Love'
Red Hot Chili Peppers have released ‘Poster Child’, the second single from their forthcoming 12th album ‘Unlimited Love’.
It follows the band last month sharing ‘Black Summer‘, which also appears on their new album that arrives on April 1 via Warner Records (pre-order here).
‘Poster Child’ hears Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Antony Kiedis rattle off the names of musicians, actors, politicians and other figures who have shaped the last century. “A funky piece, the Sandinista, me and minor Mona Lisa/ Judas Priest has whipped the beast, the mother love was named Theresa,” he sings in one verse of the slinky track.
‘Unlimited Love’ is produced by Rick Rubin and is the first Chili Peppers album to feature guitarist John Frusciante since 2006.
Frusciante left the band after the conclusion of their mammoth ‘Stadium Arcadium’ tour in 2008 in order to focus on electronic solo projects. His return was confirmed in December of 2019, and he played his first shows with the Chili Peppers for 13 years in February of the following year at a memorial service for the film producer Andrew Burkle.
