When a fashion house as influential as Balenciaga enters a new creative chapter, the shift is about more than just aesthetics. Recently appointed creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has already ushered in his vision for the maison with his Summer 26 and Autumn 26 collections. Now, he is solidifying it with his star-studded Heart and Body campaign.

Shot by renowned fashion photographer David Sims, the campaign brings together the new guard of Balenciaga celebrities anointed by Piccioli. Brand ambassadors Harris Dickinson and Winona Ryder join new friends of the house, including Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams and Labrinth, best known as the composer of Euphoria.

“I chose individuals, not characters,” explains Piccioli of the campaign’s cast. “Human beings with distinct stories. Faces marked by experience, vulnerability and nuance.”

Returning to the brand’s roots, the stripped-back campaign places the focus firmly on Piccioli’s sculptural designs. Modernising the legacy of founder Cristóbal Balenciaga, Piccioli softens structured leather silhouettes with fluid draping and precise tailoring, balancing architectural severity with an almost intimate sensuality.

“Balenciaga and Pierpaolo appreciate artistry,” says Labrinth. “That means this is more than fashion; it’s world-building. As an artist, creativity is infinitely important to me, so to be part of this House, where that is so embedded in its DNA, feels right.”

Piccioli joined the house on 10 July 2025, following a 25-year career at Valentino, where he served as creative director from 2008 until 2024 and earned acclaim for redefining modern couture through romanticism, saturated colour, and a deeply human approach to design.

“With Pierpaolo’s designs, you can see the influence of real, hundred-year-old couture, but it’s done in such a modern way. His approach to fashion and humanity really speaks to me,” adds Ryder.
